It’s been a while since the last post, so there’s a lot to write yet a lot that won’t be said. I’ll stick with highlights.
Flash, SEO, and SWFObject2 at SwellPath.com
In the next week or so, keep your eyes peeled for an awesome new post at SwellPath (the sickest SEO agency in Portland) about using SWFObject2 to make Flash SEO-friendly (well, as friendly as it can be). I harp on the SEO/Flash disconnect a lot and I bet it can get quite annoying. 😉 This post breaks down the process of making your Flash SEO-friendly, so hopefully this kind of thing won’t seem too daunting or resource-heavy.
SEO Webinar
A while ago, I flew out to Denver, CO to teach an SEO basics class for a national non-profit. It was an awesome experience and the feedback I got was amazing. Well, turns out word spread and now I have the opportunity to continue in the same vein by giving a webinar to another non-profit group. It’ll be at the end of November, so it’ll be a ton of fun to fit all the prep work on top of my current workload. Lol. Honestly, I could talk for hours about basic SEO best practices and tips, but I want to put in some time to make something that’s super helpful. Anyway, wish me luck.
Movember
Not a typo. I’ll be growing a mustache for the whole month of November. Movember happens every year and is a campaign to raise awareness for prostate cancer (also others types, but with a focus on that one in particular). I, and the team I’m on (the Aviator Navigators), will be growing out our sweet ‘staches and trying to get donations to support this awesome charity. Checkout my page if you want to learn more.
Those are my major updates. Wait. I also got my Google Analytics Individual Qualification (GAIQ), so that’s pretty rad too. It means I’m awesome at Google Analytics, though not as rad as Greg Holiat.
Finally, I’m Tweeting a lot more. Follow me or hit me up: @mike_arnesen
Captain Awesome, out.
