Time for a quick personal post. Lots of great things going on at SwellPath; mostly lots for work for cool clients. For that reason, I haven’t had time to blog here in a while.
Check out my updates below. I’m also going to some sweet events which I’m super stoked on. Here are some highlights.
New Blog Post
I put out a pretty fun blog post at SwellPath last week called “Future Facing SEO: Why It Will Pay Off to SEO Your Offline Brand Materials“. I had a great time going off on a tangent related to how Google will be using imagery in the future to determine relevancy and ranking for websites. Give it a read and share it on Twitter or Google+.
SwellPath is Hiring
Yep! We’re looking to add someone new to our team. The person who ends up getting hired will have the sweet op to work with me (and our PPC-specialist, Danish). If you have a passion for search, check out the posting here: Search Marketing Specialist at SwellPath.
Web Analytics Wednesday
Adam (@wheresitworking) and Greg (@jersboy13) are presenting at Web Analytics Wednesday in Portland this Wednesday (May 23rd). I’ll be there. If you’re a web person in the Portland area, I highly recommend swinging by to say hi.
MozCon
I just got my tickets to MozCon last week. In July, I’ll be spending three days in Seattle kicking it with some of my favorite SEO people. I’m incredibly stoked; I feel like I’m a kid waiting to go to Disneyland. Are you planning on coming, too? Let me know and we can meet up!
I’ve Moved to Google+
Due to Facebook’s continued UX changes, horrible mobile app performance, and in order to further cement myself as a super pretentious web geek, I’ve started using Google+ every day instead of Facebook. I’ve also deleted my Facebook app from my phone and stop logging into FB desktop (other than to “like” things). I’ve found I don’t miss the network at all and that I really really like Google+. Now, I just need other people to start using it, too. Find me here and add me to a circle.
Chrome Finally Overtakes IE
I hate Internet Explorer. I’ll never forget the hell IE turned my life into when I was a full-time web developer and had to make sure each site I worked on was compatible with IE5 and IE6. I’ve heard good things about the latest version, but I do not forgive and I do not forget. IE can suck it. Here’s a link to the article.
If you want a fun treat, try visiting this site in IE.
