This has been a long-time coming
When CultureIQ reached out to UpBuild to start a conversation about a potential SEO partnership, I was incredibly excited. CultureIQ, as you might have guessed, is a company focused on measuring and improving company culture. It was a match made in heaven because…
I am all about company culture.
In fact, the pursuit of great company culture was a huge reason why I founded UpBuild in the first place. If that didn’t matter to me, I probably would have taken the road more traveled and taken a gig as an employee at someone else’s company. Instead, I founded UpBuild so I could work to create a culture that I wanted to be a part of.
CultureIQ offered me the chance to share my story as a guest post on their blog over the summer (thanks, Jamie!). It took a long time for my schedule to open up enough so that I could take them up on that offer, but I finally did it.
If you’re interested in different approaches to building a great culture and want to read my story, check out “Building a Culture First Company” on CultureIQ’s blog.
Epilogue
Link building. It’s still a thing. Yeah, I got links from this (both to my personal site and my company’s site). Score!
But guess what? That wasn’t the goal and this is what you should remember — the best link building (link building that’s going to work long-term) is an activity where you’re:
- Putting others first
- Doing/creating something that helps them
That’s the whole list. Do that.
Creating value comes first. Getting a link is secondary.
