When I started working out of a home office and recruiting a remote team, I never imagined that I’d film myself as much as I do. Not that these are public but I’ve done about 20 videos in 2018 to either teach clients things, explain company policy to team members (current and future), and as part of UpBuild’s discovery (AKA, sales) process.
I just finished filming a video for a potential client who I feel great about. It was fun.

It continues to amaze me how much I don’t know about recording and editing video. I’m blown away by how much more I learn about it each and every time. There’s so much further to go. I’m not sure that I’d be cut out for doing this professionally.
My biggest game changer of late — teleprompter apps. Wow. I can’t even explain how helpful having this has been. Since I’m an SEO at heart and I believe every good thing deserves a link, here’s the Android teleprompter app I’ve been using.
The next thing I need to invest in is a hot shoe mount adapter. Trying to balance and/or tape a phone on top of a camera rarely goes well.
